Jones-Onslow recently celebrated a twenty year partnership with local schools and educators at its Bright Ideas Educational Grant Awards Banquet.

The cooperative awarded 74 grantings, to more than 300 educators, totaling some $67.500. More than 33,000 students from Jones, Onslow and Pender counties will benefit this school year from the educational projects funded through the program.

The program, celebrating its twentieth anniversary, has now awarded 1,275 grants totaling $1 million. These funds have had a direct impacted on 410,000 young people in our community.

“Being a part of our community and giving back to it is important to us and there is no better place to begin than with our children,” said Jones-Onslow CEO Ron McElheney.

“We have always been a strong supporter of our schools and educators,” McElheney continued. “The Bright Ideas Grant Program has allowed us to expand our efforts and help provide funding for projects that might not happen any other way. We’re a local company and we’re here to serve the local communities.”
