Bill
Payment Explained
Bills are prepared monthly,
reflecting an average of 30 days’ electrical use. They are
due and payable upon receipt. Payment may be made by mail, by bank
draft or in person at either of the cooperative’s two offices.
Return envelopes are provided with the bill for your convenience.
If you have a question about your bill that you want answered in
person rather than by phone, customer service representatives are
available during normal business hours to address your concerns
and discuss services and programs that can save you time and money.
Night and weekend deposit boxes are located at each of the offices
for after-hour payments. Be sure to enclose the bill stub when using
the night deposit box or sending payments by mail. Bills are delinquent
if not paid by the due date appearing on the bill and are subject
to a late payment charge. If you do not receive a bill when it’s
expected, contact your local Jones-Onslow EMC office and a duplicate
will be mailed to you.
Office Hours and Payment Locations
Jones-Onslow's normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am
until 5:00pm, except on holidays. Please note the Sneads Ferry District
Office closes for lunch from 12:30pm until 1:30 pm daily.
The cooperative has a 24-hour Operations Center. It is always open,
ready to assist with emergency situations that may arise. In addition,
service crews are on-call, around-the-clock.
Face
to Face
Both locations offer the convenience of paying your bill at the cashier
counter or the drive-thru window.
Mail
You may mail your bill to the following address: 259 Western Boulevard,
Jacksonville, NC 28546.
Credit
Cards
You can pay your electric bill with Visa or MasterCard.
You can stop by the office or call and pay your bill over the phone.
Credit card payments are not accepted at the drive-thru window.
Bank Draft
The Bank Draft Payment Plan can eliminate the hassle of writing
a check each month. You can arrange to have the payment deducted
from your bank electronically.
Budget
Billing
Are you on a budget? Does your electric bill vary each month? Budget
billing can help. Budget billing guarantees you no surprises when
you receive your electric bill. With budget billing you pay the same predetermined
amount each month.
Your account is monitored monthly and your actual electric use is
compared to the projected figures. If there are any large discrepancies
in the two amounts, we’ll contact you and make arrangements
to adjust the budgeted amount.
Each year the two figures are compared again. If you’ve over
paid your bills during the previous twelve months, a refund check
for the over paid amount will be issued. If you have under paid,
the excess amount will be due with the following bill.
If you are not currently a budget billing customer, you can start
participating in the program any time. There are certain credit
requirements and restrictions.
Automatic Bank Draft
Do you constantly have to remind yourself to pay your electric bill?
With our Automatic Bank Draft Program we’ll remember to pay
your bill for you. You will continue to receive an electric bill
each month, but the word “Draft” will appear on the
bill. You select the date each month that we draft the amount of
your bill from your checking account.
