Would you like to help protect the environment?
Now, you have a convenient
and effective way to help protect our environment! Jones-Onslow
Electric has joined with other utilites across North Carolina to
offer our members a renewable energy alternative called NC Green
Power. The program operates upon voluntary participation by members
who elect to contribute at least $4 a month on their utility bill
to help support a cleaner environment through electricity produced
from renewable resources. All utilites participating in the NC Green
Power program keep none of these funds; all contributions are forwarded
by the utilities directly to NC GreenPower for the purchase of renewable
energy for the North Carolina electric grid. Contributions are tax
free and qualify as a tax deductible contribution for income tax
purposes.
NC GreenPower Program Details:
Participation in the NC GreenPower Program is completely voluntary. Jones-Onslow EMC offers two products under the NC GreenPower program: NC GreenPower is a mass-market product that allows customers to make a monthly contribution toward one or more blocks (100 kilowatt-hours per block) of energy for $4 per block which will be added to their monthly electric bills. These blocks of energy are produced from wind, solar or biomass sources.
NC Renewable Energy is a large volume product that offers a lower cost alternative for large volume consumers who purchase at least 100 blocks (10,000 kWh) at $2.50 per block per month which is added to their monthly electric bill. This product features energy produced from a wider range of sources.
—NC GreenPower Program contributions will be itemized and shown as an additional amount on your monthly bill.
—You must have an account with Jones-Onslow EMC for monthly contributions to be charged to your bill. |
