ATTENTION JOEMC CUSTOMERS IN THE PINEY GREEN AREA...
Jones-Onslow EMC will be having a planned outage in the Piney Green area to replace a significantly damaged pole starting at 11pm on Thursday, December 8
th,
and running until 4am on Friday, December 9
th.
A primary distribution pole, located across from the Piney Green substation, is broken and must be replaced as soon as possible. Having the planned outage now greatly reduces the outage time and potential for additional damages that would result if the pole were to fall. This pole supports the electric distribution lines for three different circuits that provides power to just over 3,000 customers.
In order to perform this work in the most safe and efficient manner, the power will need to be off, resulting in an outage to the homes and businesses from the Piney Greene Substation (located at 2088 Piney Green Road) to Halltown Road including Waters Road, Grants Creek Road and Old Thirty Road. Also affected by the outage will be Montclair, Birchwood, Aragona Village, White Oak Estates, and Highland Forest subdivisions as well as Webb Apartments. Those customers affected by the outage should be receiving notification through the mail.
The work should be completed within 5 hours and all customers’ power should be restored by 4am on Friday, December 9th.
Jones-Onslow would like to apologize to customers for the inconvenience and short notification of this outage. Thank you for your understanding.
